Today

There's nothing much.
1L chalet was quite nice, but it was a bit tiring.

Today

the holidays are here. It is so boring. I signed up for several courses so I won't feel so bored. I will be missing badminton training on Friday.

Today

Today when I tried to play Maple Story the whole screen goes blank then suddenly very blury and there were weird lines here and there. Weird. Then the whole screen goes blank again. I think I will not play till the next day...

I also tried reading other people's blogs now. Some are updated almost everyday, while some are still lagging at the first day of exams. I heard that Benjy started a blog... Anybody knows what's the URL.

The badminton training was not bad. I came a hr late, and had to run three more rounds at the track. Then it was the physical training, we did the push ups. Ate Lunch at poolside, and it was fried rice with eggs.

Now killing green mushrooms is like. Whenever I kill one I glance at the screen half expecting some kind of panlid to appear. So far I killed about 2300 green mushrooms and no panlid. Think I will need to scroll stolen fence.

Today

Today was a great day. I was at home the whole day with nothing much to do except reading and rereading those books found in the book shelf. They were interesting but boring. And finally it was time to look forward towards the chalet event. Hopefully I can meet most of my classmates there! And I think most of it is sponsered by Ms Foo... Yay. However, she wants us to pay some $$ for the chalet too, so if I am not wrong, we will be bringing food. Ms Foo even told us she wanted chicken wings. If I am not wrong, we are going to deposit our bags at Zack's place as we have to move out of the chalet by the next day. Then I not sure, maybe some fun bowling trips, or swimming at Wild Wild Wet.

Today

The holidays are coming.

Today there is supposed to be street soccer, but there was a very slight drizzle and a gentle breeze, so the street soccer was either cancelled or delayed. We watched a movie instead, and it was qutie nice.

Had lunch at poolside today with Taylor and Kah Hong.
I ate some fried rice with a chicken wing. Nice.

Today

I got A1 for Chinese. That's the first A1 since Maths. Hm... I should qualify for promotion.

I got more marks than I expected in my letter, thanks to people in my class for their good phrases. I memorised some of the very good phrases in the model compositions and used them in exam. Then in the end I was quite happy with my results.

Same thing as usual: I had lunch at poolside and ate fish with fried rice. Then I bought Maltezus (small bits of chocolote) at the vending machine. I spend the time before badminton at the library, and stayed there for 90 minutes.

Badminton was fun but tiring. We went through the physical training, and most likely I will have muscle aches again...

Today

Exams are over...

Now usually I will play Runescape with Taylor, Maple Story with some of my classmates or just playing Lord of the Stars. Its quite fun.

There seem to be a pull factor of school, and that is, the fried rice. The fried rice sold at poolside restaurant is quite nice. Together with the fish fillet, its worth the money.

EP3 starts soon after the exams, and it is back to the same exercises I usually do for badminton.

We will be getting back our papers tomorrow, dunno how much I will get for each subject. To get promoted to be sec 2, we will require a MSG of 6, and I hope that it will be easy to achive.

Today

Exams are visible when you peer round the corner. I am pratically staring at my files and my worksheets all day. It is quite boring.

It is the weekends. Most people don't study on weekends, but I have to because of the examinations. So far I have crossed out English, Mathematics and Geography, but there are still many more subjects to go and I only have one more day before the EOYE.

Today wasn't that fun. Despite the oncoming examinations, I relax sometimes too. Sometimes I play soccer with my neighbours. Ok, today is Saturday, but let's talk about Friday as there was not much happenings on weekends to eleborate on.

English was the first period, if I hadn't forgotten. We went through some intense philosophy training, and Mr Quek was there talking about if one travels at the speed of light, time stops. There. That is the key to living forever.

Physical Education was not bad. We played soccer, and the other team scored one goal. However, we still managed to achieve the 1st runner up. Not bad. The other team was the last when counted backwards. To be precise: my team lost. When I went back to class, the usual chaptek kicking people was there, kicking chaptek.

Today

In the morning was Chinese. Ms Seng came in, and we went through the test paper. It was complicated and tough. I think I mentioned it before, but anyway I got 47 and a half. It was not bad.

After two periods of Chinese, it was finally recess, and some of the people played the chaptek while others went to buy some food and eat. Benjy was running the catering services again as usual. I went down to the canteen and bought a packet of rice. Then I came up to the classroom and played chaptek. I managed to kick the chaptek several times. I went back to my seat and found that some people are taking pictures of us playing using the visualiser. They managed to take a picture of Benjy.

The next period was supposed to be Science, but Mdm Tham took over. There were three periods of Mathematics, and we were supposed to complete a mock exam paper. Mdm Tham called out those that were exempted from the subject, and we were supposed to come up with the answer for the question paper. Quite an interesting task. So we went to the library and spent the next 2 hours there, attempting the questions. The question I was assigned to was ok, but I spent quite a while on one question. People came to help, then Wei Jing finally got it. After that most of us read comics, while few attempted the questions.

Art was nice as we watched the videos. We watched some of them. I feel that it must have taken them a lot of time to come up with something so creative. English was about the same, and we went through the Literature questions (actually answers) did by some group.

I ate at the poolside restaurant for the third time in a row. My lunch was some rice.

Today

Anyway today was not bad. For chinese, Ms Seng has finally got back our Chinese papers. I got 47 and a half. Not bad.

For Mathematics we went through the revision paper. It was quite complicated.

For recess Benjy's catering service has reached it's maximum number of customers for today, so I had to buy the food myself...

For assembly I was almost late. I was quite lucky, and came in before Mr Hon. We had a interesting talk about blogs.

For English we went through the Literature questions.

After that I went to the sschool library before going home.

Why is there a pop up thing?

Today

For Chinese today we performed on love's needle ways. My group also acted. I played the role of the Cannot be named person, the guy who like his ring so much he jump into the fire with it, and some guy in star wars. I did not actually know the content well. Some of the groups that came before us were quite good, and I enjoyed them.

For history Ms Sim came 10 minutes late and left 5 minutes early. So we only have around 25 minutes of History. Ms Sim told us that it was because of some oral defense thing so she will be late, in fact all our Literature, Geography and History teachers. That means Mr Quek, Ms Sim and Ms Foo. Ms Sim went through the worksheet on merger.

Recess was nice. We played soccer and I scored some goal, mainly due to other people, as they were kicking the ball I saw the chance and scored, not sure if its called quick reflexes or ks. There were a few injuries during the game, and Nelson's glasses were knocked off the lens by Jia Jie. It should be very painful.

Next comes English. As we finished editing the compositions done by the groups Mr Quek sorted us into, I thought we were going to do some worksheets. But they started going through our Literature answers. It was quite boring throughout. Han Yong was reading some Wu Xia Xiao Shuos, and he found several components of Defeat Dragon Eighteen Fists.

Maths was nice but complicated. We went through the revision worksheets, and Mdm Tham handed out several pages thick revision worksheets. It is due on Monday. Before Computer Studies, I went down to the canteen to buy some food (popcorn chicken). Many people saw the chance and asked me to buy food for them. So when I was heading to the computer lab later many people glanced at the packets of food (all popcorn chicken). They probably thought I was some really greedy person.

Today

It was English in the morning. We had another boring round of composition editing, and my group got rejected. We will have to rewrite the setting and part of the climax, as Mr Quek said it was leaving the main point. We also went through Daniel's group's composition, and their group is quite good, with mainly good English and a wide vocabulary.

Street Soccer was nice during Physical Education Lesson, but I did not get to play due to the amount of people wanting to play and the little time we had. There were many classes wanting to play also, so 1L only managed to send in 2 teams. The first match ended with 1L leading by 1-0 (the goal was scored by Andre). For the second match, I forgot the score, but I think nobody scored a goal.

We did some group and indivisual work during Chinese lesson. We are supposed to design a poster to promote sea-dog-oil. Finally, we decided on creating a flash document, as we have a computer expert in our group. For History lesson we discussed about the merger again, and Ms Sim gave us some worksheet to complete in class. I can't remember the reasons for the merger between Singapore and Malaya.

There was nothing much during music, and when I went back to the classroom they are playing with the big ball again, this time the ball split into 2 balls when kicked, and then more... They gave up the scattering paper idea, as I think it is too troublesome to clear up after a game of soccer. Badminton was nice, but the starting was not good. I was left with 70 cents as I forgot to bring more money. I ate a very plain meal that cost 60 cents, but it was fulling. During badminton, we played erm...badminton. There was also physical exercise.

Today

In the morning was Chinese. I forgot what we did.

For History, it was nothing much, and again, Jay asked Ms Sim about her opinion on blogs. I forgot what she said, but I remembered the long history lesson and the 40 minutes, talking about the Singapore's merger with Malaya that formed Malaysia. We discussed about why Malaya decided to merge with Singapore, and why Malaya had to wait 4 to 5 years before she decide to merge.

We played soccer during recess with a "soccer ball", which was actually many layers of crumpled newspaper. We played until the newspaper was to its last layer, then at that moment I was supposed to kick the ball. I kicked it, and many small bits of paper flew out, scattering on the floor. I borrowed a broom from the other class and swept the bits of paper up.

We went through the compositions during English, and some of the compositions are quite good. I felt that the compositions are well written.

Just Today

I have just realised that my posts have been getting longer.

Anyway, today there was Ms Seng telling us about the blog issue which was on the Straits Time yesterday. Ms Seng told us about some bloggers (5 girls) who wear their skirts too short. Then they were scolded by their teacher, but they were those rebelious kind, and they commented on the teacher's scolding on their blog, and said all kinds of bad things towards their teacher, e.g the teacher was jealous of their beauty, jealous of them wearing their skirts that way. In the end, the 5 girls were severely punished, and suspended from school for 3 days.

There was also this boy from a certain school residing in Bishan, saying ( in his blog) bad things about his school. This was also brought to immediate attention, and disciplinary actions were taken.

Next comes Science. Recently, we have been watching videos as there are no more examinations for that subject. We watched something about building the tallest building in the world, and the longest and largest ship that is able to accomodate many people at once. The construction fee is very high, so they have trouble building it. As mentioned in the video, since the comstruction fee is so high, the price to even spend a night abord the ship will cost a bomb, so not many people can afford to live there, so there will be no profit, so... Overall, the video is interesting.

Mr Quek went through some of the compositions written by some of my classmates. Actually, we went through three, the first about Supreme Commander Kia Wee avenging his dead father, killing the king. The second is about some crummy worm in the mango. I find that hard to write, as there's not many things you can write about this topic, hence the group came up with an idea - dreaming. They wrote about the guy being a worm, then waking up to find it all a dream. Mr Quek said that it was way out of the point, and they would have to rewrite.

Kong Chian Library

The library in Hwa Chong Institution is very resourceful. Equiped with a cooling air conditoining system, the library is an ideal place for everyone to study effectively. There are two very responsible librarians that look after the library, and they always greet me with a friendly smile whenever I step into the library. The view of the school from the top of the library is brillant as we can see the trees, bushes and grass, creating a very "natural" environment for study. I often go to the library to study and to use the resources, including the laptops, computers and books, including the atlas and some resource books that we can reference from. I find the books very useful and resourceful - there are a wide variety of books in the library. Students can book the computers or laptops for their personal resons. Of course, no playing of games in the library. Anyone violating the rules in the Kong Chian library sent out of the library, I think.

Marks Matter(s)

I got exempted for Mathematics in the exam. That's good. At least 1 less subject to study. Benjy got exempted from IH, and that means Geography, History and Literature. That's a lot. I wished I was exempted from IH too, as I am not good in IH, and exemption gives me a A1. I also got 65 for my Physics paper. Not that good, but the highest among Chemistry, Biology and Physics. That's good.

Year End Examinations

The examinations are coming soon, so I guess I have to study really hard these few days. Of course, there will be some exam pressure, but as Mr Edmund Teo said during the PCME lesson, stress come and go. It willl be over soon. Don't try anything silly... You just have to try until the boundaries of your abilities.

Projects Day Grandfinals 2005

Tomorrow there will be a project day grandfinals, and only those group that are up to a certain standard can take part, and it will be held in both the auditorium and the drama centre.

My group did not make it through the Semi Finals, so...

All Secondary 1 Pupils have the chance to be at the venue to watch the whole judging, but I will miss quite a lot as I have council duty ( stationary asher). According to the OS, we will be expecting 24 parents.

An Accident

Today, one of my consortium mates fell down, and injured himself. It must have hurt a lot. When he fell, Mr Toh (the PE Teacher) came to his aid immediately, and later brought him to the hospital, according to the consortium head. The iSpark Consortium head came in to our class and told us about the accident.

He obtained a swollen eye. I hope he will get well soon.

Am I allowed to say it?

Chernobyl was just a sign, an indication of the crime.
Collaboration by the human race in a malodorous disgrace.
I don’t speak of the lies about how safe it was
but of the game that despised living things, the foul
infiltration of mendacity that bleated maxims,
mantras. No side was innocent, all implicated.
Patriotic sacrifices were expected. Nothing
visible leaked out until those babies in the Pacific
but that was later. Every Australian home is a fallout shelter
said Titterton and we hated him. From the Urals
to Ohio we were saved from each other. Polynesia
sacrificed for three competitors in the Pacific sea
and now the subcon, as the smart set call it,
may be the next for some nuclear fallout and babies
arrive as though no threat was down the wind ...
not yet, not yet ... we will forget, we will forget.

The Show By Act 3 International

Tomorrow I will be going to a show organised by ACT 3 INTERNATIONAL. I will be taking bus no. 171 to the destination, or taking a lift by Bai Feng =). Hope I can take the lift so I don't have to wait at the bus stop for the buses... Its a 1 hour show, and food and drinks are not allowed in there. For going home, it will be taking 171 again.

Teacher's Day

Today is Teacher's Day. I went with Kiat Hong, Lim Yang, Max to visit our P6 Teachers. It was enjoyable as we met all the teachers that we had not met for a very long time.
By the way, Ms Kok is now known as Mrs Tan!!! Cheers!!!

Some days ago

Some days ago, I went to Li Ting's house for a class gathering. Isabel is leaving for London, and I think all 6J people are sad to see her go. At Li Ting's house, we played basketball, watched some movies and of course, bade farewell to Isabel.

Got to rush a bit after school to get to the venue.

History Test

Today we had a History Test. It is about the Japanese Occupation and the post war years. Some of the questions were quite hard, and I took about 15 minutes per question to answer them (total time allowed 1hr). I aim to have a MSG of 3 this term... Hope I can do it.

Movie Watching

Today I went to watch a movie with some friends. It was all about popcorn, and drinks. Looking like someone who had just watched a movie, we went to the nearby McDonalds and ate some fast food. After that we took a bus home.

Pulsate' 05

Today is the pulsate day, on the eve of Singapore's 40th national day. Our class sold drinks and the respond was far better than we expected. I guessed that many people were thirsty, and wanted a drink. We bought: some F&N Raspberry, F&N Orange, F&N Grape, Sprite Ice, Chrysanthemun Tea, Soya Bean Drink, Coke etc. It was quite sucessful, and we collected around $260 (in coupons). Tomorrow is National Day!

Anger detected

Just a few days ago my English and Literature Teacher, Mr Quek, got so angry in class that he threw a marker at Jay. Then he shouted and scolded everyone, and it was quite scary.
